It won’t be long until some very lucky owners will be receiving their brand new $2.5 million Bugatti Chirons. In the meantime, Bugatti is taking the mighty Chiron around on a press tour through Europe. Not sure that it needs anymore hype, but hey we aren’t opposed to seeing it travel all over the country. One thing we have been curious about is what this incredible 1500hp quad turbo W-16 is going to sound like. Because lets be honest, as fast as the Veyron was and with the countless videos and shootouts that it participated in, nobody really pointed out how great the car sounded. Maybe that’s because the Veyron, while it wasn’t exactly quiet, sure appeared to be anytime it was on film. It just didn’t have that crackling, grunting and snorting that you would think would be coming from an engine producing 1200hp.

Thanks to car spotter supercars of Austria we got an up close and personal look at the new Chiron being started and backed out of the trailer for the press event. Even on startup it was immediately revealed that this wasn’t anything like the Veyron. That engine fires up and its sounds like an angry Rottweiler and a Grizzly Bear having a growling match. Its an incredibly beautiful sound but in the meanest way possible. There is nothing like a car that just sounds like it would be the fastest car in the world as it sits at idle. Things got even better when the driver “gave it the beans,” as the great Jeremy Clarkson would say, and this Chiron just springs to life and you can hear the undertone of those turbos. This thing is so badass. We can’t wait to see it in action. After just hearing the car revving up I think it is fairly safe to say that this car will absolutely be capable of setting a new top speed world record and we are stoked to see it happen.

Aside from this car sounding like its angry , it also is an absolute masterpiece. The more I see of it the more I love it. If you notice on the video when the driver puts the brakes on, the brake lights form a very faint EB that I thought was a nice little touch. And if you notice the driver is wearing latex gloves as he drives the car, with a $2.5 million car would you expect anything less? Talk about some anxiety, that trailer seems to be just barely bigger than the car so it takes some precision driving just to get it on and off the trailer. I don’t even want to think about the pain in your heart that you would experience if you were to scratch it as you were backing out, especially because you would know that every camera phone within 500 feet would be out taking video of it. So for that we give these men a hand for having nerves of steel. So does this car sound as good as it looks? Tell us what you think in the comments below.
