With the new 2017 second gen Raptor just around the corner we wanted to take a look back at some the fist gen’s greatest moments. The first that comes to mind is without a doubt the RaptorTrax owned by none other than Ken Block. It shouldn’t surprise you that Block has such an awesome build considering his Hoonicorn and other Gymkhana cars.

As we all know the first gen Ford Raptor came very well equipped, and extremely capable of doing just about anything the everyday user wanted to do offroad. Matter of fact, for some people the Raptor was way more capable then their driving skills could handle.

But obviously that wasn’t the case with Block’s RaptorTrax. This is what a Raptor looks like when you can literally add every performance and cosmetic modification under the sun. This thing is fitted with everything from King Shocks to the most obvious upgrade, the track system! But why am I telling you, Ill just let the man himself give you the rundown on what I feel to be one of the most badass Raptor builds out there. With maybe the exception of a few crazy high dollar Pre-runner builds that are essentially Trophy Trucks.

I also wanted to point out, yet again, just how fantastic that 6.2L V8 sounds, granted Blocks Raptor is fitted with a Whipple Supercharger as well as an aftermarket exhaust system to the point where it creates roughly 650hp! But still even in stock form that 6.2L sounded great. It’s heartbreaking knowing that the new one is going to have a soundtrack straight out of a Fast and Furious movie. No disrespect to the highly tuned V6’s out there, but it just doesn’t sound right coming out of the best, and only, full size offroad pickup on the market.
