There have been rumors going around now for awhile that Ford could possibly be bringing back the Bronco. When we first heard about it, we have to admit we got prety excited. We couldn’t help but think how cool it would be if they brought it back and also added a Raptor style package where you would get the offroad performance but still keep the Bronco look.

Why wait and hope that they build something like that when you can just do it yourself? This guy decided to do exactly that. He took matters into his own hands and what he came up with has the potential of being something spectacular. Hs name is Van from Tumblin Automotive and he took the body off a fifth generation Bronco and attached it to the rolling chassis of a 2011 Raptor. He had to chop and cut up the frame in order to get it to fit correctly, but all the running gear remained the same.

Powerwise, the stock Bronco motor wasn’t going to cut it. So he brought the same 6.2L V8 that’s used to power the Raptor and is rated at 411hp. Posted on the tumblinauto youtube page are a few videos of them out testing the “Braptor” for lack of better words, some of them running it at speed over bumps to chek the clearance, and also a little frame twister section where you can really see the flex of that Raptor suspension in a way that you wouldn’t normally see on the truck. Just to be sure the motor was still potent, they ran it on the dyno and it was still putting out 400hp to the crank and roughly 340 to the wheels. We assume they’ve added a few things to increase that output but that’s yet to be seen. He did, however, take the interior from the Raptor and installed it so when you hop in it, you have all the modern comforts as well.

They think it will go places the Raptor won’t be able to so it’s possible they’ve also tweaked things in the suspension even more than in stock form. Either way, we wanted to give credit where credit is due. It might be a little rough around the edges, but it damn sure seems to get the job done. Just think, if these guys can do something like this and get these types of results, how badass would it be if Ford decided to get bold and build something like this. As long as they didn’t put that EcoBoost V6 under the hood, it would probably sell like hotcakes. It will probably sell regardless to be honest. If anyone has any current information about this build we would love to follow up and find out what it up to. But in the meantime, take a quick look at what this thing can do.
