To me, there’s nothing better than watching professional drivers and talented riders in action using the baddest motorsports equipment on the planet. Notice how I didn’t mention one specific type of vehicle even though we’re clearly talking about something involving sand dunes. That’s because the latest release in the Doonies series dropped yesterday and if you’re familiar with these epic sand stoke videos then you’ll know they use quite the variety of vehicles and toys.
Monster Energy stepped it up a couple notches with Doonies 3 by bringing almost their entire fleet of motorsports vehicles and sponsored riders out to the seemingly never-ending Glamis Sand Dunes. Just like in Doonies 2, you’re going to see the standard dirtbikes, snowmobiles, Pro 2 and Trophy Trucks, and much more tearing up the desert sand. But for the third installment, they added in a 650hp rallycross car driven by Liam Doran, an 850hp NASCAR driven by Kurt Busch, and one of the most impressive additions in my opinion was the two 1500hp full-blown Monster Trucks! One of which driven by the former motocross legend Damon Bradshaw.
Pretty much every big name Monster Energy athlete you can think of makes an appearance in the film, plus a healthy dose of gorgeous females. The only major names on the Monster team that we didn’t see was Ken Block and Vaughn Gittin Jr. Most of the cast from previous films came back for the third, although there was one name we expected to see more of and didn’t, and that’s Bj Baldwin and his new Toyota Trophy Truck. Technically he was listed in the credits and when we look closely on the shot where a bunch of vehicles are all together, it does look like his solid black Tundra Prerunner. But there was no feature of him like with other big names, nor did his new race truck make an appearance.
As I thought about it a little bit more, Bj does have Recoil 4 coming out soon and Ken Block has more than enough success with his Gymkhana videos. Maybe Monster wanted to spread the love amongst the rest of the team. But enough about that, you need to watch it for yourself. The only other thing I wanted to point out was the incredibly massive jump that Wayland Campbell pulls off in his Ultra4 buggy! It’s by far the biggest jump I’ve ever seen come from one of those vehicles.!
