There really isn’t anything that can prepare you for Ken Block’s latest release, Climbkhana. In the off chance you’ve been living under a rock for the past year, Climbkhana is a combination of “Gymkhana” and “Hillclimb.” There needs to be a new word invented in the English language to properly express how cool it is to see Ken Block and his new and improved 1,400hp twin-turbo monster that is the Hoonicorn V2, drifting back and forth through 156 turns over the 12.42 mile Pikes Peak Hillclimb course.
Just a few weeks back, Block took his 650hp RX43 Fiesta Rallycross car out to Swingarm City in Southern Utah and made the first offroad Gymkhana video called ‘Terrakhana‘. And at the time, it didn’t seem possible that Block could do any better, but secretly we expected Climbkhana to take it to the next level, and that’s exactly what it did. The sound of that twin turbo Roush Yates V8 screaming as it bounces off the rev-limiter is the kind of sound that sends chills down your spine.
Rumor has it that the first time Block tried to film this incredible achievement the engine had trouble with lubrication issues. However, the people at Pennzoil stepped in to fix that issue and from what I can tell, the Hoonicorn V2 ran like the champion it is.Take a 9 minute and 20-second break from reality and ride with Ken Block as he drifts the Hoonicorn V2 into the clouds.
