Dodge is one brand that’s gone all-in when it comes to enthusiasts. While the Durango isn’t exactly a track-worthy vehicle, pretty much the rest of the brand’s lineup is. That’s especially true when it comes to the SRT models, and now buying one means you get to attend racing school.
Buying or leasing a new Dodge SRT means a free day at the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving. The official title for the full-day course is The Official High Performance Driving School of Dodge/SRT.
The vehicles for the Bob Bondurant classes are provided by Dodge. All 100 of the track cars are Chargers, Challengers and Vipers. Among them are a few Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcats, so you can learn how to properly handle all 707 horses and not make a fool of yourself at the local track.
If students meet some qualifications that haven’t been published, they’ll get to drive a Dodge Viper ACR at the school. It’s not hard to imagine why Bob Bondurant wouldn’t want to put any fool behind the wheel of the fastest street-legal version of the Viper ever made, because in the wrong hands it could be downright lethal.
As you can likely guess, there’s instruction on the track, plus apparently some classroom time. It shouldn’t be boring, because learning about hooning from some professionals is an exciting topic. Apparently they’ll also be going over how to drive on the street, but it probably won’t cover how to street race without getting caught by the cops.
You just have to cover getting to the school, which is located in Chandler, Arizona (that’s in the Phoenix Metro area). You have a year after the purchase/lease date of your SRT to redeem the free class, so don’t wait around.
This promotion started last year with new 2015 and 2016 models. Dodge might carry it over to the 2017 model year, if it thinks enough people are interested. In other words, it’s a good idea to let Dodge know if you want this to continue.
