Meet little 4 year old, Lila Kalis, who happens to be the youngest drift/stunt driver in the world. I guess we don’t know that for sure, but at 4 years old she’s got to be right? Even at her young age she happens to be quite proficient behind the wheel of the single seat electric Power Wheels that we all wanted when we were kids. But this is no ordinary kids toy car that goes 3mph.
It’s actually been heavily modified by her father to the tune of over $2500 according to the video. It uses a 1hp brushless electric motor that can propel her up over 10mph as of now but as she grows older the top speed can be increased. But since it’s an electric motor you of course have that instant torque to help her pull through a drift. You think this might be a spoof but this little girl is no joke! Her current car, she calls the “Red Dragon”, even comes equipped with disc brakes that have a hand lever similar to that you’d see in Ken Block’s Hoonicorn. You see her pull the handbrake to initiate the turn while also performing perfect counter steer and throttle modulation. Again she’s only 4 years old. Her dad is pro skateboarder Joshua Kalis who also happens to be a gearhead so I’m sure he couldn’t be happier about the whole thing. I have nieces that age and I now want to figure out how to build one for them. Her dad ran some numbers as far as the power relative to her size and he figures it work out to be roughly a 3600lb car with over 1000hp with a top speed of 60mph! Speed Society brings a lot of great gearhead content, but they knocked it out of the park with this one.
