The 2017 Winter X Games recently came to a close and in no way did it disappoint. There isn’t another competition in the world where you will see this many top tier action winter sports athletes in one location. This year it was once again held in the ski town of Aspen, Colorado, and considering the incredible winter we’ve had here in the Rocky Mountains, it was going to be a good year. New events were added to the games and one of the most significant was the addition of Snow Bike racing. I’m not sure what’s changed in the last year but these snow conversion kits seem to be everywhere now.

Having won 9 consecutive gold medals leading up to this year’s games, history was made when Tucker Hibbert didn’t bring home the gold in snowmobile snocross. It’s not often we talk about history being made when someone DOESN’T win a gold medal. In regards to the tricks performed by the athletes, it seems like all disciplines were pushed to new levels of difficulty. For example, a few riders attempted to pull double backflips during the snowmobile best trick competition. Just in case you missed all the action, Dirt Shark and Monster Energy teamed up and created a highlight video that perfectly represents how far the envelope was pushed at this year’s games. So sit back and enjoy the show.
