Back in February, we reported about the Lamborghini Huracan setting a new half mile world record thanks to a twin turbo system from Underground Racing. These cars are fast on a level that most people really can’t understand. When they turn the boost up on these cars they can produce in excess of 2200hp or even more in some cases. All while keeping the look of a stock vehicle.
Hitting 238mph in just a half mile is just flat out hauling ass. Even the most powerful of cars would normally need at least a mile to hit those speeds, and even then it’s unlikely. Even a Bugatti would have trouble getting up over 230mph in just a half mile.
It seems like the Huracan or Lamborghini’s in general, is a favorite of Underground Racing. It might be the bulletproof V10 engine and the all-wheel drive system to help get the ridiculous amounts of power to the ground. I’m sure it also helps that Lamborghinis are some of the best-looking cars on the road. But we’re talking speed here, and lots of it.
According to recent reports, another Underground Racing-tuned Lambo has just set a new half mile world record at the Sift Sector event held in Oregon. Using the “X Version” twin turbo package on his beautiful white Lamborghini Huracan, Richard Fowler, was able to hit the mind blowing speed of 247.25mph in just a half mile. Fowler had been consistently pulled 240+mph runs all weekend without the car showing the slightest problems. That should really tell you something about the quality of work the guys at Underground do. When you’re dealing with power in excess of 2200hp and can do multiple runs without blowing the engine to pieces its safe to say it was a quality build.
