The Formula 1 car is the pinnacle of the automotive racing world. No other vehicle can get around a track at the speed these cars are capable of. Multi-million dollar cars, and many more millions in research and development. Nothing about them would be remotely considered street legal but that didn’t stop Betsafe, a British online betting company, from somehow getting a hold of a Formula 1 car and apparently making it street legal with intentions of running it through various cities along the Gumball 3000 route. It doesn’t sound as if it will be completing the entire rally that starts in Dublin Ireland on April 30th and ends in Bucharest, Romania May 7th, but it is registered to attend the rally so it will be interesting to see what happens.

To promote the whole ordeal Betsafe has released a video of this badass Formula 1 car driving around town like its a regular Ford Focus. Picking up some take-out, waiting at cross-walks, the whole nine yards. Everything we could find on the car states that it still has a Ferrari type 056 650hp engine putting out over 650hp, which is pretty obvious when you hear the car on the video, and it appears to have turn signals so maybe this thing really is street legal. Not sure how much better you can get than a damn F1 car. Imagine pulling up next to a Bugatti Chiron and making it look like a cheap VW Beetle.

The Gumball 3000 Rally was started back in 1999 as a way for the rich and famous to get together and promote the highest level of luxury, fashion, and exotic cars. It’s usually attended by quite a few celebrities, depending on the route taken, which changes each year. In 2008 The rally started in San Francisco, went down through San Diego and Las Vegas Before all the cars and everyone attached to them were flown to China where the rally ended in Beijing for the Olympic games. Average cost to attend the Gumball 3000 have been reported to be as high as $30,000 per person and that’s only for the entry fee, hotel and car shipping costs! Can’t think of a better place to debut a multi- million dollar street car.

Betsafe is no stranger to the Gumball 3000, the famous Audi RS6 owned by Jon Olssen had Betsafe Livery. Check out this highlight of the 2014 Rally.
