This is a great video done by Snap-On tools called Seat Swap where they bring two professional drivers of two different disciplines and “swap” drivers seats. This time they bring Cruz Pedregon who drives the 10,000hp Snap-On Nitro Funny Car and Trophy Truck/Pro4 Driver Bryce Menzies which is a brilliant combination.
I am a big time drag racing fan and to see one of these Nitro Funny Cars take off is one of those experiences that cant be described, only felt. But I am also an avid off-road enthusiast and the sound and obvious fun factor of Menzies smashing around that short course track in the Pro4 truck might be unmatched. It starts with Bryce getting behind the wheel of a super comp dragster that “only” has 700hp and he and Cruz take turns seeing who could put down the best lap time.
Then Menzies gives Cruz the rundown on how to drive his Pro4 truck and lets him loose on the dirt track, which again looks like the funnest thing in the world. There was a lot of cut away shots so you never could really tell how hard Pedregon was pushing the truck, but it looks like it he did pretty well.
But the best part of the video is when Menzies busts out his actual Trophy Truck and takes it out on the drag strip. Even though it is built to run 1000 mile races through some of the roughest terrain in the world, its 37-39 inch aggressive tires and weighing in at well over two tons it still managed to run a 10 second run. That is absolutely impressive, we are talking close to the same time as a Lamborghini Aventador!
Even with a quick 10 second run, Cruz still had to give him a full 6 second head start before launching all 10,000hp in his Nitro Funny Car to try and make it a close race. What do you thing, was that enough for Menzies to stay ahead?
