The Porsche 918 Spyder is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to drag racing thanks to that all wheel drive hybrid power. Aside from the time it got destroyed by the Rimac Concept One, it’s not very often that a car can compete with the 918 when it comes to flat out acceleration. Even the other members of the hypercar holy trinity struggle to keep up with the mighty Porsche. However, there is one man that feels pretty confident his cars can run with the best of what Germany has to offer. And that man is Christian von Koenigsegg.

One of the best-suited cars for such a race in the Koenigsegg lineup is the Agera R model. It features a 5.0L twin turbo V8 that’s good for approximately 1140hp with a curb weight just under 3200lbs. On paper, the Porsche is outmatched with less horsepower and more weight, but it has electric motors that provide instant torque at zero RPMs. If this were a standard quarter mile race, I’d say the favorite would be the 918 because it will likely launch off the line like a rocket. But in this case, it happens to be a much longer race that will reach speeds up over 200 MPH, which should shift the odds in favor of the Agera. No matter what the results, however shocking they may be, it’s always entertaining to watch two of the fastest cars on the market in a head-to-head shootout on an open runway.
