We are slowly getting closer to the official release of the 2017 Ford Raptor that is scheduled to hit dealerships sometime this fall. That means that we are getting closer to finding out the full specs for the mighty off-road beast. We especially have been anxiously waiting to hear anything in regards to the power specs that will come from the new 3.5L twin turbo Ecoboost V6. Unfortunately that is still being left at “more than 450hp”.
However according to a recent article by Autoblog the official pricing for the Raptor was leaked and it may not be as much as some people will expect. If you are like most Raptor owners, you will probably opt for the SuperCrew that has four doors and that will set you back roughly $52,505, If you don’t need those extra doors the SuperCab is perfect for you and that will cost you around $49,520. Now of course these are the base figures before you start adding in all of the fun options that will be available. Apparently there will be a “luxury” package that will increase the price just under $10,000. Its unclear exactly what that package entails but i’m sure leather, upgraded stereo and infotainment systems and other creature comfort type amenities. I wouldn’t think anything in regards to the performance of the truck would be included, but that’s just an assumption.
Even in the base trim, the Raptor will still include the 10 speed automatic transmission with the 3.5L ecoboost V6, that will likely sound terrible. Most importantly though, the heavily reinforced suspension and four wheel drive system that will tackle any sort of terrain. As a comparison, the 2013 SuperCab had a starting price of just under $45,000 but most ended up just over $50K once any options boxes were checked.
