Picture having the face melting acceleration of a high-powered sports bike without the vulnerability of being almost completely unprotected in the event of something going wrong. That’s exactly what you got with this wicked little machine known as the Scorpion P6. It’s a three-wheeled vehicle similar to what we see with the Polaris Slingshot, only juiced up to the max. It’s designed to be street legal as a motorcycle but have the driving experience of a high-end sports car. Sounds like the formula for a damn good time.

It almost reminds me of the Ariel Atom in the sense that it’s very obvious it was built with one purpose, to be lighting fast while giving you the ultimate feeling of being connected to the road. The fact that you can look down and see the suspension working, and when I say look down I mean literally because it’s sitting right in your face almost, how cool is that! It’s built by Scorpion Motorsports based out of Miami and these guys are really onto something here. The P6 made a brief but memorable appearance in the latest Drift Battle Video that gives a very good indication of just how sick this thing is. If I’m honest, that’s what sparked the interest in writing this article.

Powering this crazy go-cart looking thing is a 600cc engine from a Kawasaki ZX6R that produces 126hp, and the P6 only weighs 730lbs. That works out to be a very good power to weight ratio. All that power goes to a signal back wheel making it very easy to turn to smoke even though they’re 265/35ZR18 size tires which are a good size contact patch. Don’t let that fool you, though, the P6 can still hook up. According to reports, it can blast off 0-60 times in the 3.5-second range no problem. As a point of reference, the Polaris Slingshot only has a claimed 4.6 0-60 time even though technically it has a 50hp advantage over the P6. The P6’s 1000lbs weight advantage that makes all the difference.

Now in the event, you haven’t seen these before I must say most of the information I was able to find on the P6 was dated back in 2011. However according to their website they’ve just opened up dealers overseas in both Australia and as you might’ve guessed already the oil-rich sands of Dubai. When doing some last minute research I did manage to find information regarding Scorpion Motorsports and they’re most definitely still active and even have a new model they’re working on call the Scorpion PX prototype that’s supposed to have 180hp.

Now that would be absolutely insane to add that much horsepower to a vehicle that’s already on the supercar level of performance. I don’t have any facts to back this up, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw sub-3 second 0-60 times if they can get the back tire to hook. Damn that’s got to be such a rush being behind the wheel. This new PX prototype reminds me of the Ariel Atom V8 in relation to the standard Atom 3, which actually is a pretty damn good compliment.

Not the best video because it’s shot from a distance, but you really can hear that bullet bike engine scream though.
