A few weeks back we looked at the incredible world record jump where Levi Lavalle and Robbie Maddison jumped side by side into the record books back in 2011. Maddison jumped 378 feet 9 inches on his dirtbike and Lavalle absolutely crushed it jumping 412ft 6 inches, both of which significantly beat their previous records. What I didn’t know was that prior to the jump Levi Lavalle had a major crash while practicing for the attempt. When you’re jumping those distances a wreck can be catastrophic and that’s exactly the case here. Apparently, his sled cut out while in the air which meant there was nothing he could do to prevent a major nose dive. Check out this footage of the wreck, but be warned it’s a very brutal wreck that Lavalle was lucky he survived, let alone fully recover.
