Jay Leno has one of the most extensive car collections in the World. But there’s one particular car brand that you won’t see in the warehouse required to house the denim chins many different vehicles. You might think it’s some one-off Russian car brand, right? Not even close. Leno doesn’t own a single Ferrari. He might have everything from steam cars to a McLaren P1, but you won’t find a single prancing pony anywhere in his stable.
When asked, Leno says that he’s a fan of modern Ferrari products, but not so much on the older ones. Wow, really! But even still he’s never bought one. Personally, we think if you’re going to have a car collection like that and you have more than enough money to have whatever car you want, why wouldn’t you have a Ferrari? It doesn’t make much sense does it.
None the less, in a recent episode of Jay Leno’s Garage he had a “first” behind the wheel of a car, which I’m sure is somewhat of a rare occasion at this point in his life. He got behind the wheel of the legendary Ferrari F40, and even though it’s older, he loved it. He said that it felt like an “Italian Cobra” because it was so powerful and light at the same time, which we thought was a decent compliment. The car belonged to avid Ferrari enthusiast David Lee who owns at least five of the most collectible pony cars ever made. Watch as Jay gets behind the wheel of the F40 with its 2.9L twin turbo V8 and 478hp and see if you think he might’ve been converted to become a Ferrari man afterall.
