There has been a heated debate amongst Porsche enthusiasts regarding the upcoming GT2 RS and whether or not it deserves all the hype it’s getting. I for one think it’s marvelous car and would love nothing more than to crawl into one every morning as I’m going to work, or the track, or wherever else I might go that day. What’s not to like? You have 700hp on tap coming from a rear mounted engine that’s sending power to the rear wheels only.
If you wanted to get picky, it does have the PDK transmission only versus the standard three pedal manual that we all know and love. Unfortunately that seems to be the way of the future. Porsche was very quick to point out that the PDK is faster in almost every application and scenario.
Whatever your opinion of the new GT2 RS, there’s one thing that I’ve yet to hear a single complaint about, the looks. This thing is drop dead gorgeous. It’s aggressive and mean looking in all the right places, while also still being curvy and sexy in others. In my opinion, the only other Porsche models that can compete with it are the stunning 918 Spyder and GT3 RS. But the 918 is really in a class by itself and the GT3 is sexy for the exact same reasons as this GT2.
When we first reported on the GT2 RS there were only a few pictures of this new limited edition super sports car. But now thanks to GTBoard.com, we can see this spectacular machine in action as well as hear that twin turbo 3.8L V6 sing, all 700hp of it. And if you weren’t sure how you felt about it before wait until you see and hear it in action. I love this car. I love the looks, the sounds, and especially the performance of it. Watch it lay down a few hot laps at the Circuit Paul Richard and see if you don’t feel the same.
